About Epirus

Epirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques which allow power-hungry systems to do more with less.

Job Summary:
Join Epirus as a Supplier Quality Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the reliability and performance of leading-edge technologies. In this highly collaborative role, you will drive supplier quality excellence across a dynamic, fast‑scaling supply base. You’ll partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure our suppliers deliver the precision, innovation, and consistency that define Epirus products.

This is an opportunity to directly influence product quality, accelerate supplier readiness, and embed quality into every stage of the product lifecycle while working in an environment where creative problem‑solving and continuous improvement are part of the culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead supplier quality programs that support the company’s growth, including audits, assessments, readiness reviews, and qualification activities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supplier risks to strengthen product reliability from development through production.
  • Assess and qualify new and existing suppliers, ensuring alignment with Epirus’ technology roadmap and quality expectations.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective actions that drive measurable supplier improvement.
  • Track supplier performance, develop KPIs, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve quality issues, manage nonconforming material, and drive technical clarity.
  • Support FAI, process validation, and new supplier/component qualifications.
  • Provide technical coaching to suppliers to elevate their capabilities and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop inspection strategies and measurement systems that enhance detection capability both internally and across the supply base.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in product development to ensure supplier readiness and early incorporation of DFM principles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, supplier development, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with machined parts, sheet metal, PCBs, cable assemblies, or electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Experience using data analysis tools to monitor trends and define metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence suppliers in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • ASQ CQE or similar certification.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, and IPC standards.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, and measurement system capability analysis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 40% as needed to supplier and manufacturing sites.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

At Epirus, you’ll work with technical peers and great people—and get first crack at some of the defining technology challenges of our time. Here, “impossible” is just a challenge. We're a diverse, fast-growing team of change-makers fueling the future of energy with revolutionary solutions. Join us and rewrite the rules.
