About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within ecommerce, retail, consumer products, or inventory-intensive businesses.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate inventory accounting across multiple international entities, supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate inventory variances.
- Record inventory-related journal entries, including inventory adjustments, write-offs, reserves, landed costs, and cost of goods sold.
- Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory accounting.
- Review inventory movements across warehouses, fulfillment centers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Analyze purchases, transfers, returns, adjustments, and disposals.
- Assist in calculating inventory provisions and reserves.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Procurement teams.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Document and improve inventory accounting processes and internal controls.
- Participate in finance transformation and process automation initiatives.
- Support ad hoc finance projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in inventory accounting.
- Experience in ecommerce, retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting.
- Experience with reconciliations and journal entries.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- ERP experience (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Professional fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amazon FBA inventory accounting.
- Knowledge of 3PL warehouse operations.
- Experience in a multinational company.
