Role Description

As an IQC Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating incoming materials, components, and parts to ensure they meet Form Energy's drawing and quality requirements before they enter our production process. You will perform dimensional inspections, interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T callouts, document inspection results, and flag quality concerns to support fast, accurate supplier-facing communication. This role helps ensure product reliability and consistent quality by catching issues at the earliest point in the material flow.

What you'll do:

  • Perform dimensional inspections on incoming parts to support Product Control Plans and input results into our Quality Management System.

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T symbols to verify parts conform to specification.

  • Apply AQL-based sampling guidelines to determine inspection lot sizes

  • Identify and escalate nonconforming material, providing a clear preliminary problem description to support supplier-facing communication and root cause investigation.

  • Help maintain clean, organized inspection environments in our receiving area, metrology lab, and on the production floor.

  • Have an eye for quality and flag changes or concerning variations in incoming parts or supplier processes.

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years experience in heavy manufacturing assembly or quality inspection.

  • Experience using industry standard metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, multimeters, CMMs, optical comparators.

  • Working knowledge of GD&T rules and ability to read GD&T symbols on mechanical drawings.

  • Familiarity with AQL-based sampling plans.

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and escalate quality issues.

Where you'll work:

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.
