The Role: Flexible, Varied & Rewarding

This permanent part-time position offers 24 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked. We understand that everyone's circumstances are different and are happy to discuss working arrangements that suit both you and the practice.

Our clinic operates between 8:30am and 6:00pm, with shifts scheduled on a rota basis. The role also includes a 1 in 3 Saturday rota and participation in a minimal out-of-hours emergency on-call service. The commitment is exceptionally light, with nurses typically called out only around three times per year on average.

As a Veterinary Nurse at Acorn Vets, you'll enjoy a varied caseload and be actively involved in all aspects of practice life. You'll have the opportunity to utilise your nursing skills across surgical, medical and inpatient care while building strong relationships with clients and supporting them throughout their pets' healthcare journey.

Working closely with our experienced veterinary team, you'll be encouraged to contribute your ideas, continue developing your clinical skills, and take pride in providing outstanding patient care every day.

You'll be based in our Mallow practice, where you'll become part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. While we also have a sister site in Kildorrery, this position is based solely in Mallow and there is no expectation for regular travel between practices.

About You

We're looking for a Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about patient care and enjoys being part of a collaborative and supportive team.

You must be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland and committed to maintaining high clinical standards. Just as importantly, you'll be friendly, approachable, and enjoy building positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and patients alike.

We're seeking someone who is adaptable and flexible, enjoys a varied workload, and is happy working within a busy practice environment. Whether you're at the beginning of your career or bring years of nursing experience, you'll find support, encouragement, and opportunities to develop within our team.
