The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, performing statistical analysis and providing insights that support data-informed decision making across the organisation. The role involves working with stakeholders across multiple teams to support research initiatives and improve operational effectiveness through data analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Collect, cleanse and analyse large datasets from a variety of sources.
- Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, relationships and patterns in data.
- Develop and maintain statistical models to support forecasting and predictive analytics.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Create and present reports and visualisations that communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
- Maintain data quality and accuracy through regular validation and review processes.
- Support best practice in data modelling, reporting and self-service analytics.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide analytical support for projects and initiatives.
Essential Criteria
- 5+ years experience using Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, time intelligence, data modelling, business metrics and user experience design.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including tabular, text and geospatial datasets.
- Experience connecting Power BI to Azure SQL, Data Lake, APIs and SharePoint.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Experience working both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst, Power BI Developer or a similar role, including significant recent Power BI delivery experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of Copilot in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Familiarity with Python or R and associated analytical libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application to data analysis.
- Experience supporting public sector or multi-agency programmes.
- Knowledge of housing-related datasets or government programme reporting.
