Join Somfy, a global leader in motorized shading and building automation, as Project Business Developer for Romania.
This role combines hunting with long-term project ownership. You find projects in the commercial and residential markets and get Somfy solutions specified at design stage. You will then manage each project throughout its entire lifecycle, working closely with client stakeholders and Somfy's internal teams. You will proactively arrange and conduct client meetings with architects, developers and contractors to present Somfy solutions and develop long-term partnerships.
What You'll Do:
- Identify and win new projects in the commercial and residential markets.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with residential and commercial developers, architects, engineering offices, façade consultants, construction companies and other project stakeholders, through regular field visits and client meetings.
- Promote and sell Somfy's motorized, automated and connected shading solutions as essential elements of modern, energy-efficient buildings, ensuring they are specified early and included in project documentation.
- Provide technical and commercial guidance on Somfy solutions during the design and planning phases, demonstrating their value in energy performance, comfort and smart building integration.
- Lead the full project development cycle, from prospecting and specification through negotiation to project follow-up, supporting partner manufacturers involved in execution.
- Collaborate with Sales, Key Account Managers, Technical Support and Marketing teams to convert specifications into orders.
- Represent Somfy at industry events and trade shows, and organize training sessions and presentations for project stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in business development, project sales or specification sales in construction or building technologies (e.g. façades, windows, shading, HVAC, lighting, BMS, electrical installations).
- Proven experience working with architects, developers and engineering offices, and in project lifecycle management.
- A technical mindset and understanding of motorized shading and building automation systems, with the ability to read technical drawings and project documentation (e.g. AutoCAD).
- Strong commercial, negotiation and presentation skills.
- A proactive, business-minded and results-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently in complex stakeholder environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture or a construction-related field.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Romania.
- Fluent Romanian and good command of English (min. B2), enabling effective communication.
