SUMMARY:
As a Personal Care Assistant / PCA, you will provide individualized and small-group support to students in school settings, helping them achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with educational and behavioral health teams, you will implement behavioral strategies, foster positive relationships, and support students in developing the skills needed to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Our team specializes in supporting students with a variety of developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact while gaining valuable experience in education, behavioral health, and special education services.
SCHEDULE:
- PCAs will work on all student days during the school calendar year, 8am - 3pm
LOCATION:
- Child & Career Development Center (CCDC), Great Valley Campus: 40 Moores Road, Malvern, PA 19355
- Hires for the Great Valley Child & Career Development Center will begin the school year at the Child and Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA until the anticipated Great Valley Center opens mid-October
- Van transportation from the CCDC Great Valley Campus to CCDC Coatesville Campus will be provided!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities, manage behavioral interventions, manage personal care, and access to educational environment as it aligns with the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
- Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team.
- Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent.
- Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements.
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma OR equivalency
- Experience working with school aged children - preferred
- Experience with autism and / or other special needs - preferred
CREDENTIALS:
(Clearances current within 12 months)
- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
- PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
- PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
- TB Screening (current within 3 months)
- Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts

POST-OFFER REQUIREMENT:
- Candidates selected for this position will be required to complete job-related Post-Offer Employment Testing (POET) following a conditional offer of employment. The assessment evaluates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
