Fuse Energy

London

Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer.

FULL TIMEENGINEERING

Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.

We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.

We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

The HSE Engineer is responsible for site-based Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across the UK utility-scale renewable portfolio, supporting projects from development through construction, commissioning, and early operations.

The role ensures that all activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with legal, regulatory, and internal standards. Acting as the HSE engineer for the business, the role drives a strong safety culture, ensures robust compliance frameworks, and supports continuous improvement across construction and operational sites.

  • Support environmental compliance across construction and operational sites, including monitoring environmental risks and incidents
  • Assist with contractor mobilisation, onboarding and ongoing HSE performance monitoring
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, training and other HSE activities
  • Support internal, external, regulatory and lender audits where required
  • Assist with the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks, HSE training and safety awareness programmes
  • Share lessons learned and support the implementation of improvements across projects
  • Help identify opportunities to improve HSE processes, reduce risk and maintain consistent standards across the portfolio
