We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Mechanical Assembly Technician with a mechanical mindset to work on our innovative low volume high complexity products to join the team at SPT Labtech. You will receive full training and support from our fantastic manufacturing team working on the firefly instrument.
If you find it rewarding to work to a high level of quality, improve efficiencies whilst working collaboratively with our development engineers on products that transform the way scientists work, this role could be for you!
About us:
Based in Melbourn, near Cambridge, UK, SPT Labtech makes products that transform the way scientists work. For nearly two decades, our expert scientists, engineers and business innovators have provided scientists with world-leading, innovative solutions for liquid handling, sample preparation, and sample management that help accelerate research and make a real difference to human health. Want to be part of a team that’s making a difference to human health?
About the role:
Your key responsibilities will include working to build instructions to assemble products from simple sub-assemblies to final instrument build and test.
You will have good attention to detail, ability to fault find and problem solve and thrive in a team environment.
About you:
Ideally have 2+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent position or have a BTEC, NVQ or HNC in an engineering discipline.
You will be practically minded and be a hands-on problem solver. You will be proactive and willing to learn new skills. If you have similar experience in a low-volume manufacturing environment, great! But it’s your attitude that will be your biggest attribute: we can provide training for everything else. You can be an entry-level technician looking to improve your skills.
You will be a self-starter and able to manage your own time and workload, but equally happy to be part of a hard-working team. Good communication will be important!
Our commitment to you:
You will be collaborating with talented professionals in a motivated and driven team.
We offer a competitive salary package and comprehensive, valued benefits, including private medical insurance, a generous pension plan, and an annual discretionary bonus.
We embrace diversity and inclusivity, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or family status. We prioritise supporting our employees' diverse needs as we strive for excellence together.
