As Guest Relations, you will be the warm and professional face of MR PORTER. You'll manage the front-of-house team, ensure seamless guest experiences, and maintain the uplifting energy that defines our restaurant.
The Job
For MR PORTER, we are looking for a Head Hostess, who is comfortable in a fast-paced, downtown environment. You will take the hostess team to the next level & set the tone for the evening and future for all our guests.
This position is service oriented and extremely outgoing. You will invite guests into the restaurant, inform guests about our dining options and lead them through the ideal options for them, and provide a “wow” experience for guests who may visit us for the first time.
The role of a Head Hostess is essential in creating an unforgettable experience for all the guests of MR PORTER. You will provide our guests with a warm and sincere greeting and to ensure any of their special requirements are carefully communicated to the rest of the team.
Our Head Hostess is also leading the hostess team in a motivational atmosphere and has a complete knowledge of F&B service techniques, all menus, drinks lists and specialties offered in Izakaya and served to the correct standards, to pass on. You lead by example and make sure your team is always spot on.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Reception & Ambience
Greet and welcome guests with charm and genuine hospitality
Manage waitlist, reservations, and table flow to ensure smooth seating
Upsell and promote specials, events, and private dining options
Team Leadership
Lead, inspire, coach, and mentor the hostess team
Schedule, coordinate, and communicate daily shifts and service needs
Monitor and support consistent standards for guest service
Operational Oversight
Oversee front desk, telephone, and online reservation systems
Coordinate closely with restaurant, bar, and kitchen teams for guest flow
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, or escalations with composure and care
Maintain presentation standards for host station, menus, and facilities
Administrative Duties
Generate daily reports: reservation summaries, attendance logs, guest feedback
Assist in optimizing reservation policies and front-of-house procedures
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory front-of-house role (fine-dining, upscale restaurant, or high-end hospitality)
Fluent in English; Dutch is a big plus
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Confident multitasker with an upbeat, positive attitude
High organizational standards, attention to detail
Availability to flexibly work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
