Job Title: Seasonal Construction Laborer (with Potential Future Opportunity)
Company: Schmid & Rhodes Construction
At Schmid & Rhodes Construction, we’re always interested in meeting people who are eager to learn the craft of building high-end custom homes. While we may not always have an active opening, we occasionally bring on Seasonal Construction Laborers — typically students or individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in residential construction over a defined period of time.
If you’re someone who enjoys working with your hands, being outdoors, and learning from experienced professionals, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect.
About the Role:
This is a seasonal, entry-level position designed to support our field teams while providing exposure to the residential construction process. You would work alongside our Foremen, Construction Managers, and skilled trades, helping keep job sites organized and moving efficiently.
This role is a great fit for someone exploring a future in construction — or simply looking for a meaningful, hands-on summer experience.
What You’d Do:
- Assist with job site setup, cleanup, and organization
- Help move materials, tools, and equipment around the site
- Support Foremen and trades with basic construction tasks
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and accessibility across the job site
- Help prepare for daily work activities, inspections, and meetings
- Learn to use basic tools and equipment under supervision
- Gain exposure to different phases of residential construction
What We Look For:
This role is less about experience and more about attitude and effort.
The right person:
- Is reliable, punctual, and willing to work hard
- Has a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Is eager to learn and takes direction well
- Works well with others and respects the team environment
- Takes pride in doing things the right way — even the small things
- Has an interest in construction, building, or hands-on work
Other Details:
- Schedule: Seasonal / temporary (timing varies based on need and candidate availability)
- Location: Job sites throughout the Knoxville and Walland areas
- Compensation: Hourly, based on experience
