About the role
DESRI seeks talented and highly motivated associates or associate directors (title and compensation commensurate with experience) to join its Investment & Acquisitions team. The team is responsible for evaluating and executing investments, acquisitions, financings, and other strategic transactions across DESRI’s portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of DESRI’s investments, from initial underwriting and transaction structuring through financing, construction, and operations. You’ll work closely with senior members of the Investment & Acquisitions team and colleagues across DESRI to evaluate opportunities, execute transactions, and support investment decisions.
What you'll do
You’ll be responsible for building and reviewing financial models to support management investment decisions, with a focus on modeling project returns, optimizing capital structure, identifying risks and potential upside, and presenting analytical findings in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities may include:
- Build and review detailed financial models to evaluate project economics, investment returns, financing structures, and transaction alternatives.
- Lead financial, commercial, and other due diligence and manage third-party deliverables through deal processes.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and identify key risks, potential upside, and value creation opportunities.
- Support transaction leads in structuring and negotiating acquisitions, financings, and opportunistic sales.
- Support the negotiation and execution of definitive documentation for debt and tax equity financings.
- Evaluate acquisitions and other investment opportunities across new projects and DESRI’s existing portfolio.
- Prepare investment materials and clearly communicate analytical findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors throughout transaction processes.
- Support projects throughout development, construction, financing, and operations as investment and transaction needs arise.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have an undergraduate degree and at least two years of relevant professional experience for the Associate level, with additional experience expected for the Associate Director level.
- Strong financial modeling capabilities, particularly in Excel.
- Experience with investment analysis, transaction execution, project finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, private equity, renewable energy, or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to identify and clearly communicate key investment considerations, risks, and opportunities.
- A record of academic and professional achievement, well-developed communication skills, the ability to collaborate well with a small team, proven organizational acumen when working on multiple projects, and a high level of motivation are all vital to this role.
- Demonstrated interest in and experience with renewable energy projects and/or electricity markets in the United States.
- At DESRI, we consider a wide range of factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The expected annual base salary for this position is $100,000–$160,000.
