Our client, an innovative venture-backed fintech start-up supported by top-tier investors (including early backers of Polymarket and Kalshi), is building a next-generation trading platform for sports fans to trade performance-based markets on professional athletes.
The organization is seeking a talented Founding Engineer (Frontend) to lead the development of their flagship consumer web application. Working closely alongside experienced co-founders with backgrounds from Apple, Google, Dragonfly, and Arbitrum, this key leadership hire will play a central role in designing intuitive trading and portfolio experiences while making complex underlying transaction flows seamless for users.
This is a full-time, in-office role located at our client’s office in Chelsea, New York City. It offers competitive compensation, high-impact product influence, and a significant founding equity stake.
- Lead frontend development for the flagship consumer web platform using React and TypeScript.
- Design and execute fast, highly responsive trading and portfolio management interfaces tailored to sports enthusiasts and everyday consumers.
- Collaborate directly with the founding team to shape the overarching product design, feature set, and technical roadmap.
- Partner with backend and protocol engineers to architect optimized APIs and streamlined transaction workflows that conceal underlying on-chain complexity from end users.
- Maintain rigorous standards for code quality, application performance, low-latency responsiveness, and platform reliability.
Requirements
- echnical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript) with a proven track record of shipping polished, consumer-facing web applications.
- Architecture & State Management: Deep understanding of complex frontend application state, low-latency web performance, web responsiveness, and system reliability.
- Product Sense: Strong product intuition, with an eye for UI/UX detail and a user-centric approach to software development.
- Location: Based in or willing to work in-office in Chelsea, NYC on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
- Prior experience building user-facing features for trading platforms, prediction markets, brokerages, exchanges, sportsbooks, fintech, or web3/crypto systems.
Benefits
Base Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Equity: 1.0% – 2.0% founding equity stake
Work Environment: Modern office space located in Chelsea, NYC
Direct influence on company direction and tech strategy as an early founding team member.
