Marketing & Events Coordinator
Huston Electric, a full-service electrical contractor serving customers throughout Indiana, is seeking a full-time Marketing and Events Coordinator to join our team in Kokomo, IN or Westfield, IN (we're open to candidates in both areas)! We'd love to have someone creative, organized, and genuinely excited about storytelling, events, and bringing people together. We're looking for an outgoing, coachable personality with a passion for content creation, social media, marketing, and creating experiences that people enjoy. The ideal candidate understands and appreciates the blue-collar, construction world and knows how to create AEC content and marketing that resonates with that audience and the people who show up and do the work every day. We are offering $19-21/hour, based on experience, along with a competitive benefits package for full-time employees, including:
- Paid vacation
- Paid company holidays
- 401(k) with company matching
- Pension plan
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage
- Vehicle allowance + Company fuel card
This position is based at our Kokomo, IN or Westfield, IN office but serves all five of our Indiana locations - Kokomo, Lafayette, Westfield, Bloomington, and Franklin. You'll be a familiar face across our offices and out in the communities we serve. Working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM with a one-hour lunch. Some occasional evening and weekend events are required, though these are few and far between.
What You'll Do:
- Support company-wide marketing efforts - managing social media accounts, executing campaigns, and creating content that speaks to who we are and the industry we work in.
- Own planning, coordinating, and attending company events, including community events, trade expos, golf outings, career fairs, and employee celebrations.
- Build and maintain content calendars and schedules across platforms, with a strong understanding of what performs well for construction companies and their target audiences.
- Manage and utilize Meta Business Suite/LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Canva, and other platform tools to create, plan, publish, and track content engagement.
- Travel regularly between our five Indiana offices (Kokomo, Lafayette, Westfield, Bloomington, and Franklin) to support marketing and events needs in person.
- Visit job sites and company locations to capture real, authentic content for social media and marketing materials.
- Assist with employee culture initiatives - helping plan and coordinate engagement activities and events across our teams.
- Collaborate with our Director of Marketing to support internal departments to help drive company-wide initiatives.
- Use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and company software programs to complete daily tasks efficiently.
Who We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, social media, events, or a related role - with demonstrated experience managing social media platforms professionally, not just personally.
- A marketing degree is preferred.
- Experience in or genuine familiarity with the construction, skilled trades, or AEC industry is strongly preferred. We need someone who understands our world and can market to it - the people we work with, the jobs we do, and the culture of the field.
- Strong content creation skills - photography, short-form video, copywriting, and graphic design (Canva experience a plus).
- Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite, and/or LinkedIn Campaign Manager - creating, scheduling, and tracking content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Proven ability to build and manage content and events that drive engagement.
- Experience with event planning and coordination.
- Comfortable with regular local travel between our Indiana offices and to community events - this role is genuinely out and about, and we want someone who loves that.
- Outgoing, positive, energetic personality - a natural people person!
- Creative eye with strong attention to detail.
- Coachable, curious, and eager to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Professional, organized, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
