LA28 (Web)

Los Angeles

Senior Associate, Venue Design.

TEMPORARYON-SITESENIOR LEVELDEVOPS & INFRA$73K–98K/YR

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions.

If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

As Senior Associate, Venue Design, you will help shape the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic venues before they exist on site, working within Venue Infrastructure to coordinate overlay design across fully temporary and existing seating bowls and combining requirements from internal functional areas and external design partners into integrated, practical solutions. The role suits a detail-oriented design or event professional who wants to grow quickly while establishing venue infrastructure from the ground up, guided by LA28's values of excellence, co-creation and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

·       Collaborate with internal functional areas to support the development of venue infrastructure, keeping requirements consistent across venues.

·       Support the integration of venue seating bowls in fully temporary and existing seating bowls.

·       Work closely with internal and external design teams, including Venue Management, Accessibility and Games Operations, to ensure cohesive planning and delivery of venue infrastructure.

·       Collect all stakeholder requirements and coordinate overlay design solutions, keeping internal teams aligned on deliverables and timelines.

·       Support problem-solving related to venue planning and execution, while supporting the core Venue Infrastructure team.

Required Competencies

·       Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in event and entertainment, sports, or architectural design.

·       Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and clients while building strong cross-functional relationships internally and externally.

·       Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail, adapting effectively to changing priorities and deadlines.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information effectively, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Bachelor's degree; or 4 years of equivalent experience in venue design, architectural design, or sports and event planning.

Valued Experience

·       Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, Forma, Rhino, Revit and AutoCAD.

·       Familiarity with sports and event planning.

·       Background in large-scale events, venue management or event operations.

·       Background in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC).

·       Ability to work independently, think critically and determine the appropriate course of action with little guidance.

What We Offer

·       Shape venue designs for the first Summer Games in the United States in 32 years.

·       Develop design and project management capabilities alongside venue, accessibility and operations specialists.

·       Gain hands-on exposure to venue sites.

·       Join an organization guided by optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness.

What This Role Means for the Games

Athletes, spectators and workforce will experience the Games through the venues this team designs, so by integrating stakeholder needs into workable overlay and seating solutions, you will help make each venue accessible, functional and ready to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

·       Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office, with occasional travel to venue sites as needed.

·       The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

·       The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

·       Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

·       Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

·       Attend virtual or in-person meetings as required.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 – $98,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role.
