About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cards Migration Consultant to support a large-scale credit card portfolio migration programme within the banking and payments sector.

This is a hands-on transformation delivery role requiring strong card issuing and payments expertise, combined with the ability to manage complex migration workstreams and engage senior stakeholders.

The successful candidate will support the planning and execution of a credit card portfolio migration across payment schemes, helping to ensure operational readiness, effective stakeholder coordination and minimal customer disruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead designated card migration workstreams, including planning, milestones, deliverables and dependencies.
  • Support migration strategy, portfolio segmentation, migration waves and execution sequencing.
  • Coordinate card product mapping across features, pricing, rewards, benefits and customer propositions.
  • Work with business, technology, operations, risk, fraud, compliance and finance stakeholders to resolve migration dependencies.
  • Manage workstream risks, issues, actions and implementation readiness.
  • Support migration cutover preparation and post-migration stabilisation.
  • Assess customer and operational impacts, including potential service disruption and customer attrition.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder discussions and decision-making sessions.
  • Prepare programme updates, implementation roadmaps and steering committee materials.

Requirements

  • Approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience in cards, payments, banking transformation, consulting or programme delivery.
  • Proven experience delivering or leading cards, payments or payment scheme migration programmes.
  • Strong understanding of the card issuing ecosystem, including payment processing, authorisation, clearing and settlement.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional programmes involving multiple stakeholders and vendors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to prepare clear, decision-oriented materials for senior management.

Advantageous Experience

  • Payment scheme migrations, BIN migrations or core card platform transformations.
  • Card operations, fraud, risk, customer servicing, rewards or loyalty programmes.
  • Regional or multi-market banking transformation initiatives.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project management certification.

The Ideal Candidate

You have practical experience delivering complex card migration or card issuing transformation initiatives. You understand both the technical and operational considerations involved in migrating card portfolios and can translate programme objectives into structured, executable workstreams.

You are comfortable working across business and technology teams, managing delivery dependencies and communicating with senior stakeholders.
