Summary of Role: The Engineer, Factory Automation (AMHS) supports the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of automated material handling systems (AMHS) and material control systems (MCS) within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, analyze system performance, and implement automation solutions that enhance factory productivity and operational efficiency. Essential Responsibilities include: Monitor and analyze AMHS and MCS system performance, availability trends, and operational metrics to ensure reliable wafer transportation across the manufacturing facility. Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for automation equipment, software, and control system issues to minimize operational impact. Drive and support continuous improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and automation enhancements to improve system reliability, efficiency, and productivity. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Facilities, Information Technology, and equipment suppliers to support safe and effective factory automation operations. Other Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. Required Qualifications: Education – Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and identify improvement opportunities. Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Prior related internship or co-op experience Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. Knowledge of industrial automation, robotics, material handling systems, control systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), or semiconductor manufacturing processes. Experience with data analysis tools, programming, scripting, or automation-related projects developed through academic coursework, internships, or personal projects.
