REMOTEENGINEERING

Who we are

Thrive Nutrition redefines RD consulting by combining clinical expertise with technology, so dietitians spend less time on paperwork and more time on interventions and real conversations with residents. Thrive Nutrition is part of MealSuite, which makes all-in-one food service software for senior living. Communities get expert dietitian care that delivers measurable outcomes, so residents get the care they need every day.

Work summary

Thrive Nutrition by MealSuite is seeking a Registered Dietitian who enjoys in-person work and is comfortable with some remote work to serve as an independent consultant. In this role, you will deliver clinical nutrition care that helps residents in long-term care and short-term rehabilitation community eat well and feel their best. Tech-enabled tools make admin faster and easier, so consultants can focus on residents, customers, and clients. The position offers real autonomy, a flexible schedule and competitive pay. If this opportunity sounds exciting to you, we would love to hear from you!

Independent contractor status

This is an independent contractor (1099) role. Each factor below describes what that means in practice. Final terms are set out in the contractor agreement for the state where the position is posted, and that agreement governs:

  • Control over the work: Independent contractors decide which visits to accept and when to schedule them, within each community's access hours and the agreed scope of work. Independent contractors choose how to complete assessments, counseling and documentation, within professional standards and clinical guidelines. MealSuite does not set working hours beyond the visit schedule agreed for each community, and does not direct the independent contractor's clinical judgment.
  • Relationship with MealSuite: Independent contractors are independent businesses, not MealSuite employees, agents, partners or joint venturers. Independent contractors may not present themselves as MealSuite employees, and they are not eligible for employee benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, retirement contributions, unemployment insurance or workers' compensation.
  • Financial control: Independent contractors are paid per visit or project at the agreed rate and submit an invoice after each visit. Independent contractors provide and pay for their own equipment, vehicles, phone and business expenses [confirm mileage or travel reimbursement], and independent contractors bear their own taxes, including self-employment tax. Independent contractors receive no salary, hourly wage or benefits.
  • Opportunity to serve other clients: Independent contractors may work with other clients, including other senior living and healthcare organizations, and decide how much work to take on. The engagement is not exclusive.
