A Day in The Life Of: In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Software Engineer II role. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Design, develop, and test software for medical devices per software standards. May provide hands-on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and software engineering best practices to entry level software engineers. Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other engineering artifacts, ensuring timely delivery to meet program commitments. Design and implement reusable frameworks, components, and engineering patterns that accelerate development, improve maintainability, and increase team productivity. Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement as well as working with others to develop and document process improvements. Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will increase team velocity. Work collaboratively across functions and with internal and external partners to deliver high quality products to the marketplace. Key Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of technical experience. Passion for creating high quality software and documentation Experience developing frameworks, reusable libraries, platforms, or shared software components that enable efficient product development. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges. Proven ability to thrive in an Agile, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams. Experience developing software within regulated environments such as medical devices, healthcare, automotive, aerospace, or other quality-focused industries is an advantage. Experience with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and modern software engineering best practices. Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET MAUI, iPadOS. Experience with application architecture, software frameworks, design patterns, and reusable component development is highly desirable.
