UX Designer.

REMOTEDESIGN
The User Experience Designer will be responsible for the design of digital products and applications across multiple platforms. The UX Designer will take ownership of large-scale company initiatives and maintain relationships with Development and Product teams. The UX Designer will develop detailed market analysis data, high-level requirements, and user-centric design language that informs developers and other key stakeholders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Take complex, high-level business and technical requirements and turn them into complete workflows, detailed mockups, and documentation across web, iOS, and Android. Use AI to build workflows and prototypes faster, generating and iterating on flows, states, and edge cases, then applying your design judgment to refine them into polished, production-ready experiences. Build polished, high-fidelity interactive prototypes that demonstrate real flows, states, and edge cases, and present them to senior leadership to drive decisions. Map end-to-end user journeys and workflows for payment products (e.g., checkout, wallets, disputes, onboarding, money movement), accounting for success, failure, and exception paths. Partner with Product Owners to define feature sets and high-level requirements based on user needs, and to simplify and prioritize where requirements are complicated or competing. Conduct user research and competitive analysis, and develop personas and workflows grounded in customer behavior, especially around trust, security, and financial decision-making. Design with compliance and risk in mind (e.g., PCI, PSD2/SCA, KYC/AML, disclosures, accessibility), working with Legal, Risk, and Compliance partners. Design thoughtful AI-enabled experiences where they add real value, including conversational and agentic interfaces, explainability, user control, and error recovery. Develop and evolve our design language and system, including patterns for AI-driven features, and keep it consistent across products. Serve as a primary design point of contact for Engineering leads and developers, answering usability questions and approving design and UX quality in the QA process. Write or contribute UX copy and craft clear, user-centric messaging. Use AI tools in your own workflow (research synthesis, ideation, prototyping) and share what works with the team. Education and Experience (required): Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Master’s degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in a UX Designer role (or Software Engineer role with significant design responsibility). Portfolio demonstrating complete web and mobile products, including interactive prototypes and workflows, designed from concept through development completion. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (required): Proven ability to distill complex requirements into clear, well-structured workflows and fully realized interactive prototypes. Demonstrated leadership and comfort owning large-scale projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfort instructing and critiquing UI designers. Self-motivated, with experience working with developers, designers, and product managers, both independently and in teams. Experience with responsive web design as well as iOS and Android design conventions. Understanding of iterative development methodologies, including Scrum and Agile. Expert understanding of digital design principles and active awareness of trends in web, mobile, and AI-enabled design. Working understanding of designing for AI-powered features, including transparency, trust, and appropriate user control, or a strong point of view on how to do so. Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Strong innovation, creativity, design, and analytical skills. Preferred Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or other regulated financial products. Hands-on experience using AI tools or code-assisted prototyping to accelerate design work. Proficiency in Jira, Principle, and After Effects. Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) in financial contexts. Additional Information: Direct Reports: none Travel Requirements: 10% License and Certification Requirements: None Working Conditions: Working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Remote when needed.
