Job Summary: Operates in a production-oriented role and provides back up assistance to the grille area. Delivers the highest level of guest service. Assists with ensuring that overall grille area operates efficiently and to service and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides input to assist with establishing departmental workflow. Assists with building merchandise displays for customer appeal. Uses suggestive selling ideas to promote product sales. Assists with modeling a friendly and guest service-oriented attitude by greeting, engaging, and addressing guests’ wants and needs. Assists with ordering product as necessary to maintain proper inventory levels. Communicates with team leader on inventory levels. Assists with providing regular feedback and coaching to grille partners on performance. Maintains cleanliness of the patio area. Ensures quality control, rotation and date checking procedures are being properly followed. Slices, weighs, packages, and labels product. Assists in shrink control. Assists in the coordination of establishing departmental work schedules. Handles sharp objects and kitchen equipment. Complies with Company policies and procedures. Upholds safe and sanitary working and shopping environment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic mathematical skills for the purpose of following recipes. Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bread slicer, commercial oven, etc. Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales. Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes. Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools. Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment. Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with partners and customers. Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible. Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor. Education, Experience and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with one-year job-related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 18 years of age required. Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy. Food Handler certification required.
