The Lead Researcher performs a variety of basic laboratory research tasks determined by the field and scope of the particular research project/study. Also, performs tasks related to the research project independently, but within specific guidelines which are subject to review by supervisor and/or other research staff. Join the laboratory of Dr. Jasmine Plummer as a Lead Researcher and contribute to cutting-edge research focused on understanding the genomic mechanisms that drive disease. This role offers the opportunity to independently execute and optimize research studies, troubleshoot complex experiments, analyze and communicate findings, and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in molecular biology, including single-cell genomics, cell culture, and CRISPR gene editing, along with a strong scientific foundation and passion for advancing translational research. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Experience with single-cell genomics, including experimental design, sample preparation, data generation, and/or analysis. Hands-on expertise in cell culture techniques and cell-based assays. Experience utilizing CRISPR gene editing technologies for functional genomics or related applications. Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize complex laboratory experiments. Strong scientific communication skills with a track record of contributing to publications, presentations, or research reports. Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior research staff and trainees. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail in experimental documentation and data management. Learn More About the Lab: Plummer Lab Team Dr. Jasmine Plummer Job Responsibilities: Develop and perform procedures using established or modified techniques/protocols Implement new but established protocols without individual training Troubleshoot experiments and identify anomalies in own data Consistently monitors current literature and trends within field Accurately record experimental procedures and data Prepare and report results/ data leading to posters, presentations, or publications Provide guidance to less-experienced team members Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
