St. Norbert College, a nationally ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a PM Shift Supervisor. This position is responsible for supporting the operation of the Campus Center Food Court, Phil’s, in the absence of the Manager and Assistant Manager. This is a working supervisor position that spends a majority of the shift working in the kitchen as well as overseeing the work of students. Regular working hours are Monday – Friday, 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm with rotating weekends. Specific responsibilities: Direct and oversee the work of students in the Phil’s Dining area. Oversee food prep, making sure items are properly made, using standardized portions, and monitoring the quality of items. Serve food promptly from a fast-food-type menu while providing excellent customer service. Train students to work at all stations (grill, fryer, subs, and cash register). Ensure the cleanliness of the dining and food preparation areas. Make sure Phil’s is properly cleaned and locked, the cash register is balanced, the POS reports are run, and cash is dropped at the end of each night. Maintain inventory, stock food, stock coolers, prep food, sweep and mop, take out garbage and recycling, wash pots, pans, and dishes. Supervision Exercised Over: 2 Student Lead workers and 15 Student workers Required Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years of food service experience with strong short order cooking experience. 1 year of supervisory and cash handling experience. Ability to obtain ServeSafe certification/training. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment while multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including professionalism, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Proficiency in basic math and common computer applications, with the ability to learn new programs and technology. Ability to exercise sound judgment, make timely decisions, and set a positive example for others.
