Job Title Cook - CSCD Pay Rate United States of America (Hourly) Time Type Full time Summary ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare or direct preparation of food to be served complying with applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures; Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud; Supervises residents assigned to work kitchen detail; Responsible for insuring kitchen and dining areas are cleaned after each meal. KNOWLEDGE: Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff personnel; follow written and verbal instructions; and communicate effectively orally and in writing; General knowledge of meal planning and food preparation; General knowledge necessary to safely and efficiently operate kitchen equipment and machines (including but not limited to: oven, stove, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and knives) used in the performance of this job. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required; One (1) year experience in food service positions required; Must obtain Health Department Food Handling license or card. Completion of the Residential Staff Certification Course within 1 year of assignment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Includes lifting/carrying from 10 lbs. to 30 lbs. occasionally; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand an eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting and handling to perform the essential job functions. Applicant must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license. Applicant must pass and maintain a favorable criminal background check. Applicant must clear a pre-employment physical and urinalysis test.
