This position will be primarily located at CRCH in the OR, with possible rotations to ION or Riverside 3 during low OR case volume. The Radiologic Technologist Outpatient performs diagnostic imaging procedures in ambulatory and practice-based settings. This role utilizes specialized equipment and clinical judgment to produce high-quality images while supporting efficient patient flow and excellent customer service. The Radiologic Technologist Outpatient Supports Carilion Clinic’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality in all job responsibilities. Performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiographic equipment in outpatient settings. Assesses patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safe and appropriate care. Positions patients and operates imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Utilizes PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record systems for documentation and workflow. Collaborates with physicians, clinical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care. Participates in training and orientation of students and staff. Maintains a safe environment and adheres to radiation safety standards. Manages workflow independently and prioritizes patient care needs in a fast-paced environment. Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards. What We Require: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required. Experience: None. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: ARRT registry required. Virginia state license required for ambulatory settings. Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to manage workflow and prioritize tasks in an outpatient environment.
