Post Production Producer.

ABOUT SLATE At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them. | ABOUT THE ROLE Slate Auto is building the creative engine behind a new era of American made EVs. Our in-house production studio and marketing fleet program generate a high volume of photo, video, and motion content, spanning brand and e-commerce, educational and how-to content, and internal communications. We need a Post Production Producer to own the pipeline that turns raw footage into finished, on-brand assets, on schedule and at scale. This role sits at the center of our creative operations system: managing a mix of in-house and freelance editors, colorists, and VFX artists; keeping projects moving through our production tracker; and making sure every asset that lands in our DAM meets brand and quality standards. We are a DaVinci Resolve house across edit, color, and finishing, so fluency in that ecosystem, including DaVinci cloud workflows, is essential. | WHAT YOU GET TO DO Own post production scheduling and workflow for photo, video, and motion deliverables across multiple concurrent projects and content types, including e-commerce, educational and instructional content, internal communications, and brand and hero content Source, vet, and manage a bench of freelance editors, colorists, and VFX artists, understanding the key players, going rates, and typical workflows in each discipline well enough to staff projects correctly and negotiate confidently Manage end to end post workflow in DaVinci Resolve, including collaborative and cloud based project workflows (DaVinci Resolve cloud collaboration), proxy and media management, and color finishing handoffs Oversee cloud based editing and review workflows, including video hosting and review and approval platforms (Frame.io, LucidLink, Shade.inc, or similar), for remote and freelance collaborators Maintain and enforce SOPs for retouch tiers, edit workflows, color pipelines, and VFX and motion handoffs Track project status, deadlines, and deliverables in our production management system (Smartsheet) Coordinate with shoot producers to ensure footage and assets are organized, logged, and ready for post the moment production wraps Manage ingest, QC, and final delivery of assets into our DAM (Brandfolder), including metadata and brand compliance Troubleshoot bottlenecks in the post pipeline and recommend process and vendor improvements Partner with the Creative Director and EP on creative review and final sign-off before assets go to stakeholders or external partners Manage versioning, revisions, and approval cycles across internal teams, including Marketing, Brand, Communications, and Training and Education | WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM 5-10 years of post production experience, ideally in-house at a brand, agency, or production company with high volume, multi-format content needs Deep working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve across edit, color, and VFX and Fusion workflows, including DaVinci cloud collaboration tools Experience managing freelance post production talent, including editors, colorists, and VFX and motion artists, including knowing where to find them, how to brief and vet them, and how standard rates and deal structures work in each discipline Comfort running cloud-based editing and review pipelines and video hosting and approval platforms (Frame.io, LucidLink, Shade.inc, or similar) for distributed teams Experience with DAM platforms (Brandfolder or similar) and asset metadata and taxonomy best practices Experience with production tracking tools (Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday, or similar) Versatility across content types, equally comfortable producing a polished e-commerce product video and a quick turn internal comms clip Strong eye for visual quality and brand consistency Excellent organizational and communication skills Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where processes are still being built Automotive, commercial photography and video experience a strong plus WHY JOIN TEAM SLATE? At Slate, we’re fueled by grit, determination, and attention to detail. The start-up spirit of ingenuity and resourcefulness move our business forward. Team Slate fosters a culture of excellence, innovation, and mutual respect, and is motivated by shared principles. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, you may contact us at slate-talent_acquisition@slate.auto. About Us At Slate, we’ve got one job: building a vehicle you’ll fall in love with, right here in the USA. We believe that car buyers—not car companies—should call the shots. We like looking at a road, not a screen. We don’t like paying for stuff we don’t need.
We like picking out the stuff we do need. We think dings are badges, not blemishes. But we know not everyone likes what we like. So, we built you a Slate: you make it yours.
