PEOPLE & OPS
Equipment Maintenance Technician II Location: Tampa, FL 12hr Night Shift Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician II, you’ll support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of production and packaging equipment within our regulated oral solid dose (OSD) manufacturing environment. You’ll help ensure equipment reliability so we can meet production goals and deliver high‑quality products to patients. What you will get: Below is a comprehensive summary of the benefits package we offer: Performance-related bonus. Medical, dental and vision insurance. 401(k) matching plan. Life insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability insurance. Employee assistance programs. Paid time off (PTO). Retirement options, where applicable. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and job‑related knowledge. What you will do: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Troubleshoot mechanical and minor electrical issues using tools, diagrams, and OEM guidance. Support equipment changeovers, setups, and functional checks before production runs. Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components such as belts, bearings, seals, and actuators. Conduct basic electrical support including sensors, switches, and signal connections. Document all work in the CMMS following Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Partner with operations and quality teams to reduce downtime and support root‑cause investigations. What we are looking for: 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a GMP or manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, pneumatic, and minor electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic diagrams. Experience performing equipment setups, adjustments, and component‑level repairs. Familiarity with CMMS systems for work order execution and documentation. Understanding of GDP and cGMP principles related to maintenance activities. High attention to safety, quality, and detail in a fast‑paced production environment.
