Sustainability Manager.

FULL TIME

Sustainability Manager Chile will lead Statkraft Chile’s integrated sustainability function across environmental management and permitting, social management and human rights, throughout project development, construction and operations. The role will protect and strengthen Statkraft’s licence to operate, ensure compliance with applicable requirements, manage material sustainability, impacts, risks and opportunities, and integrate sustainability considerations into business decisions in line with local legislation, Operative Model and applicable corporate standards.

Responsabilities:

As Sustainability Manager Chile, you will play a key role in delivering our sustainability strategy, ensuring that environmental, social and human rights considerations are fully integrated into our business decisions, projects and operations.

You will lead the environmental and social management of our projects and operating assets, including environmental assessment and permitting strategies, regulatory compliance, environmental commitments, performance monitoring, audits and action plans.

A key part of your role will be leading our social management and community engagement strategy, building constructive relationships with communities, landowners, authorities and other relevant stakeholders. You will oversee social impact and risk management, grievance mechanisms, conflict prevention and resolution, social investment initiatives, and the local implementation of our human rights commitments.

Working closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, you will provide strategic advice on sustainability risks and opportunities and ensure that environmental and social considerations are embedded early in investment, project development, construction and operational decisions.

You will also lead and develop an integrated, high-performing sustainability team, ensuring clear priorities, strong collaboration and effective execution. In addition, you will oversee sustainability performance, budgets, external consultants and reporting, ensuring reliable and timely information for both local and corporate requirements.

Sustainability owns the technical management of environmental and social impacts, community relations, human rights and sustainability reporting; Communications & Public Affairs owns corporate communications, institutional positioning, media relations and public-affairs strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education in environmental engineering, civil engineering, natural resources, forestry, biology, geography, social sciences, law or a related discipline; postgraduate study in sustainability, environmental management, social management, human rights or ESG is desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with strong depth in environmental or social management and demonstrated leadership across complementary sustainability disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Proven experience in environmental assessment, permitting and compliance, together with social management, community engagement and stakeholder-risk management.
  • Solid knowledge of Chilean environmental and social legislation and applicable international good practice.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets, consultants, contracts and service delivery.
  • Renewable-energy, infrastructure or other regulated-industry experience is desirable, as is familiarity with IFC Performance Standards, human-rights due diligence and ESG reporting.
  • Experience in multinational and matrix organisations
  • Advanced written and spoken Spanish and English.
