Job Description: Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Financial Reporting and Controls Analyst to join our Financial Reporting and Controls team. This full-time position reports to the Associate Director, Financial Reporting and Controls and plays a critical role in supporting IFRS and NAIC financial statement audits, managing external auditor requests, and ensuring reporting deadlines are met. Experience- 8+ years’ experience Region supporting – US Shift Timings: 3:30 pm- 12:00 am (require flexibility basis business requirement 5:30 pm-2 am) Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 2 days per week from the office, in line with the requirements of the business group Role Type: Individual Contributor The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities effectively, and demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail. This role primarily supports U.S. Eastern Time business hours and requires flexibility to meet critical reporting and audit deadlines. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate external auditor testing requests, including tracking deliverables, gathering supporting documentation, and facilitating timely, complete responses Prepare financial statements and related supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable reporting requirements Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to collect data, resolve issues, and ensure deadlines are met Identify opportunities to enhance reporting and control processes through standardization, improved documentation, and workflow efficiencies Support ad hoc projects and initiatives related to financial reporting, controls, audits, and process improvement Required Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of relevant job experience Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with comfort working with data, reconciliations, and reporting detail Highly organized and detail-oriented with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, large volumes of documentation, competing stakeholder requests, and deadline-driven deliverables in a fast-paced environment Self-starter with strong initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across functions Strong written and verbal communication skills Reliable and conscientious approach to deadline-driven work Preferred Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field · Insurance and/or financial services industry experience · Experience working in medium-to-large organizations with multiple divisions Experience supporting external financial statement audits and responding to auditor requests · Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel and Word) Experience with Workiva preferred Job Category: Finance Posting End Date: 22/10/2026 Shine together At Sun Life, you can be your most brilliant self.
