Project Manager - Architecture & Engineering Design.

FULL TIMEENGINEERING

We’re seeking an experienced A/E Project Manager to oversee architecture and engineering projects from early planning through design completion, permitting, and construction administration. This role requires a background in an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design firm, with responsibility for project performance, team leadership, client communication, and delivery of high-quality design services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct project execution across design development, engineering, permitting, construction support, and final delivery.
  • Establish project scopes, fee budgets, schedules, resource plans, and key deliverables.
  • Lead architects, engineers, consultants, and external partners, ensuring responsibilities and deadlines are clearly defined.
  • Oversee project milestones, design submissions, approvals, open decisions, and progress against established plans.
  • Identify design inconsistencies, scope changes, coordination gaps, schedule threats, and budget variances.
  • Work with technical teams to resolve design challenges, permitting issues, and construction-related problems.
  • Coordinate activities across design, engineering, regulatory approvals, bidding, and construction phases.
  • Facilitate design reviews, client presentations, formal submissions, and construction-phase coordination.
  • Manage client relationships, communicate project updates, and address expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Verify that project deliverables satisfy contract requirements, applicable codes, quality standards, and client objectives.
  • Support construction administration by coordinating with contractors and resolving field questions or design issues.
  • Maintain project documentation, including meeting records, budgets, schedules, status reports, and change tracking.
  • Report project performance, financial results, risks, and schedule developments to company leadership.
  • Strengthen project delivery through improved coordination methods, documentation practices, and internal workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design.
  • Required: Previous experience working within an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design firm.
  • Demonstrated ownership of project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, risks, and client relationships.
  • Experience directing multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of design development, permitting, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Ability to manage projects from initial design through final delivery.
  • Proven ability to address scope changes, design conflicts, coordination issues, schedule risks, and cost concerns.
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of professional services agreements, design deliverables, and architecture and engineering firm operations.

Important: Candidates must have direct project management and delivery responsibility. Backgrounds limited primarily to project coordination, administrative assistance, or schedule tracking will not meet the requirements.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Health insurance options.
  • Retirement plan options.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Professional development and continuing education opportunities.
  • Opportunity to lead diverse architecture and engineering projects.
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary professional environment.
  • Long-term career growth and advancement opportunities.
