The Role Your Role As an AI Data Engineer at Kyndryl, you will serve as the architect behind the high-performance data infrastructure that powers our autonomous systems. Rather than simply moving tables, you will build the real-time, scalable data pipelines that enable agentic AI to reason over the world’s most complex enterprise environments. What You Will Do Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for structured and unstructured data using Azure services. Build robust enterprise data integrations using REST APIs, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, and reusable data frameworks. Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance, leveraging Azure Key Vault and Microsoft Entra ID for secure access. Monitor and troubleshoot Azure data pipelines, implement CI/CD practices, maintain documentation, and support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. Demonstrate strong expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Monitor; basic Java knowledge is preferred. Required Qualifications Experience: 6–8+ years of core Data Engineering experience, with at least 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience building enterprise-scale solutions using Microsoft Azure data services. Core Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark. Data Engineering Mastery: Proven track record in designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines and processing frameworks. Data Architecture: Solid understanding of data modeling principles, concepts, and relational database structures. Cloud & Platform Infrastructure: Practical experience across core Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Analytics. Preferred Skills Advanced Azure & Governance: Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Azure Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, and cloud data security/compliance best practices. Big Data & Serverless Integration: Experience working with Apache Spark, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, and REST API integrations for real-time and event-driven architectures. Programming: Basic working knowledge of Java alongside core Python/SQL expertise.
