The Role Your Role We are seeking an experienced NSX Network / VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9.0) Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python scripting, Ansible automation, and CI/CD pipelines to design, implement, and maintain scalable network automation solutions across enterprise environments. You’ll also become expert at knowing when and how to call on other SMEs outside your wheelhouse. Thinking your way around pre-existing limitations will grow your creativity and flexibility. What You Will Do Network Automation: Design and maintain automation solutions using Python, Ansible, and PowerCLI for network and infrastructure operations. Infrastructure Automation: Automate deployment, provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational workflows to reduce manual effort. API & Platform Integration: Integrate network platforms and orchestration frameworks using REST APIs, NETCONF, and infrastructure programmability. CI/CD & Compliance: Build CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment while enforcing network policies, security, and compliance standards. VMware & Cross-Team Collaboration: Develop scalable automation frameworks and partner with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to optimize VMware environments. Required Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of experience is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Automation & Scripting: Expertise in Python, Ansible, and PowerCLI for network and infrastructure automation. VMware Technologies: Hands-on experience with NSX-T, VCF 9.0, vSphere, ESXi, micro-segmentation, and DFW. Networking & APIs: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, Routing & Switching, REST APIs, and NETCONF. DevOps & Security: Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure programmability, network security, and compliance standards. Preferred Qualifications VMware & Hybrid Cloud: Enterprise-scale VMware/NSX experience with automation and orchestration across hybrid cloud environments. IaC & CI/CD: Experience with Infrastructure as Code and tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Azure DevOps. Monitoring & Automation: Expertise in network observability, monitoring, and automated remediation solutions. Security & Certifications: Experience in regulated, security-focused environments; VCP, VCAP, VMware NSX, CCNP/CCIE, or Red Hat Ansible certifications are advantageous. Core Competencies: Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
