DBI-San Antonio TX Office, United States of America

Estimator.

Job Description About Us At DBI Construction Consultants, we are construction experts who specialize in evaluating damaged structures. Our mission is simple: provide clear, independent, and accurate recommendations backed by hard evidence and deep expertise. In a world of uncertainty, we bring our clients clarity and confidence. Your Role As a Construction Cost Estimator, you will dive into field and office work — analyzing costs, timelines, and risks while visiting sites to gather real-world data. Your analysis and reports will bring practical knowledge to help our clients move forward. What You’ll Do Assist with site visits to collect measurements, photos, and project details. Support the analysis of labor, materials, and timelines for project estimates. Help track costs and flag differences between projected and actual figures. Learn to prepare professional reports and data entries in estimating tools. Gain exposure to industry software like Xactimate, Bluebeam Revu, and project scheduling tools. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical / structural engineering, construction management, or related field. Past construction or risk management internship experience preferred. Strong analytical, communication and technical reading skills. Advanced Excel skills; Xactimate/scheduling software experience preferred. Willingness to travel (~30%), meet the physical requirements, and work in varied field conditions. Why DBI Competitive total compensation and clear career advancement opportunities. Learn from experts — gain both field and office experience in a dynamic, engaging role. Sharpen your construction knowledge in a culture that values accuracy, hard work, and teamwork. Physical Activities and Requirements: In addition to the working conditions and associated physical activities and requirements above, the incumbent may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel, especially in the course of investigating and assessing property damage; these requirements may include the need to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, including a ladder, and climb ladders upwards of 30 feet. The work requires close visual acuity, with or without correction, to prepare reports containing words, symbols, and numerical figures; the incumbent is required to view a computer terminal, use a keyboard, read printed documents, make detailed visual inspections, perceive color, perceive depth, and have a sufficient field of vision to carry out all inspection and related duties. DBI Construction Consultants is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer. We believe that diversity strengthens our teams and drives innovation, client satisfaction and a strong work culture. DBI Consultants complexity simplified. We evaluate damaged structures. As construction experts, we provide independent recommendations and analyses for clients around the world in the insurance and legal industries. We have a national presence with offices from coast to coast and a robust set of specialized, in-house practices that range from scheduling and building envelope to mechanical, electrical, elevator, and landscaping. Hard evidence, expertise, and accuracy drive our work; communication and connection are our top priorities. Simply put, our work empowers our clients to move forward with confidence. In a complex industry, our mission is to bring clarity to every client we serve. Life-defining careers We have crafted a truly special company, one that is inclusive and that takes care of its people. Our unparalleled reputation means that our employees are immersed in remarkable assignments, whether evaluating tornado damage to an industrial plant in Idaho or traveling to Dubai to assess devastating fire damage to a world class high-rise. We are a community of team players who work extremely hard and crave challenges. At DBI, no two tasks are the same, pushing us each to work collaboratively and to our greatest potential. Our work is nothing short of exceptional.
