We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute, learn and grow while helping shape the experiences and impact we create across Costa Navarino.
In this position, you will support the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency and HACCP compliance, while guiding and developing the culinary team and overseeing kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of food production and presentation throughout service, ensuring mise-en-place is ready before service begins.
- Maintain strong knowledge of food products and special events taking place at the resort, supporting their successful delivery.
- Organize and coordinate special events, while actively participating in resort events and catering operations.
- Allocate tasks to kitchen staff and ensure they are completed accurately and on time, supporting smooth daily operations.
- Support kitchen staff scheduling according to demand forecasts and maintain positive and effective working relationships within the team.
- Train and guide kitchen staff to maintain resort standards, while supporting HACCP and food safety requirements.
- Monitor the proper storage and handling of products in line with FIFO principles, support monthly physical inventories, and ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Handle guest complaints professionally in line with resort policies and procedures, report equipment or maintenance issues promptly, participate in resort training programs and attend daily pre-service and monthly communication meetings.
Requirements
- Culinary diploma or qualification with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in a five-star hotel environment, with exposure to different kitchen sections.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- HACCP and Food Safety training.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Basic First Aid and Fire Safety training.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
