Job Summary Our team at Perry Nuclear Power Plant is seeking qualified talent to join our team in North Perry, OH. Perry Nuclear Power Plant sits on Lake Erie which is 35 miles east of Cleveland. This Boiling Water Reactor unit generates enough electricity to power more than 1 million homes daily and is one of the largest BWRs in the US. The National Institute of Urban Wildlife has certified the Perry Plant site as an Urban Wildlife Sanctuary. More than 850 acres of natural forests and marshes provide diverse habitat for area wildlife. The Electronics Repair Lab Specialist is responsible for implementing a variety of tasks associated with planning, developing and performing troubleshooting, refurbishment and repairs of electrical and electronic items (i.e., circuit boards, power supplies etc.). The personnel in the position will be required to develop test procedures and test set-ups for items being serviced, perform the refurbishment and repairs and complete and document prescribed acceptance testing. In addition, this position at times may require personnel to assist in the areas of dedication testing and failure analysis. *LEVEL OF POSITION IS DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE* Job Description Qualifications: This position requires in-depth technical knowledge of complex electrical and electronic devices and the ability to analyze electronic circuits. Demonstrated strong computer skills as well as communication, inter-personal, customer service and time management skills. Ability to obtain and maintain qualifications required to perform electrical/electronic repairs (i.e. specialized test equipment, circuit theory, soldering). Demonstrated performance and proficiency at previous electrical/electronic technical or equivalent experience preferred. Must have demonstrated ability for solving technical problems. The Electronics Lab Specialist must be able to understand how a part or component functions then conceptualize and visualize how the item must be tested to verify its proper operation. Ability to take a failed part/component, develop an understanding of why or how it failed, and devise methods and procedures to repair and test the item prior to returning it to the site as a usable spare. Should be able to lead others by having a thorough understanding of projects. Should have demonstrated initiative, creativity, dependability, good judgment and a good work ethic. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Demonstrates respectful, professional interactions by listening actively, communicating constructively, valuing diverse perspectives, and supporting a positive team environment Education: At least a high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized trade, military, or technical training in electrical/electronic components and relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Advanced degree and/or applicable experience preferred.
