About Vanguard 50 years ago, John C. Bogle had a vision to start an investment company that did things differently. A company with no external shareholders. Where all the profits were invested back into the business and used to lower costs. Evidently, it was as bold as it was brilliant. To this day, Vanguard Group still has no external shareholders. That means no share prices to protect, and no profits to generate for outside owners. Today, Vanguard is one of the world’s largest investment management companies, serving more than 50 million investors worldwide. For more than 30 years Vanguard Australia has been supporting individual investors, financial advisers, and superannuation members to achieve their long-term financial goals. Team & Opportunity The Senior Manager, Public Web leads the strategy, roadmap, performance and evolution of Vanguard Australia's public web ecosystem. The role treats public web as a product and measurable growth platform, balancing client outcomes, commercial value, technology capability, accessibility, privacy, risk and regulatory requirements. The role leads a team of specialists to achieve growth. The role partners across Marketing, Automation, Technology, CX, Data, Design, Risk, Compliance and external partners, while leading web product capability and creating clear accountability from demand through discovery, delivery, launch and optimisation. Evolve public web from passive information provision toward useful guidance, tools and clear next actions. Delivery and platform stewardship Lead the business product lifecycle from discovery through delivery, launch and post-launch optimisation. Own business requirements, acceptance criteria, readiness and outcome validation for AEM Cloud and web modernisation initiatives. Governance, risk and operational excellence Ensure legal, privacy, accessibility, brand, risk and compliance requirements are addressed early and evidenced appropriately. Establish clear intake, discovery, definition-of-ready, prioritisation, ownership, release and lifecycle practices. Reduce reliance on individual knowledge through documented requirements, launch controls, runbooks and reusable patterns. Stakeholder and people leadership Lead and develop web product professionals, setting clear outcomes, standards and development priorities. Influence senior and cross-functional stakeholders with concise recommendations, performance narratives and transparent trade-offs. Create a collaborative, outcome-focused culture that values client evidence, experimentation, quality and continuous learning. What will help you stand out You will stand out if you can demonstrate that you have: Directly managed a small team for a minimum of 3 years where you have been pivotal in their development, uplifting output and growing their careers. Led a public website, digital platform or portal as a product and growth channel, not simply as a content or technology delivery function. Translated client and business needs into a clear product strategy, prioritised roadmap and measurable outcomes. Delivered evidence-based improvements to website traffic, engagement, conversion, service deflection or client experience, with clear measures of impact. Built productive partnerships between Marketing, Technology, CX, Data, Design, Risk and Compliance, particularly where priorities or constraints competed. Led major web transformation or modernisation initiatives, ideally involving Adobe Experience Manager, cloud migration or interconnected web, secure portal and app ecosystems. Applied SEO, GEO, experimentation, personalisation, accessibility and information architecture to improve discoverability and user journeys. Led and developed a small specialist team while influencing a much broader group of technical and business partners. Taken people through change with curiosity, resilience and a human-centred leadership approach. We are less interested in candidates who have simply launched a new website. We want to understand the measurable difference your work made for clients and the organisation.
