Position Summary The Senior Collaboration & Messaging Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, support, and continuous improvement of Johnson Controls' Microsoft 365 collaboration and messaging platforms across the APAC region. The role serves as a technical leader for Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 governance, security compliance, and emerging AI-powered workplace technologies. This position partners with global engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders to deliver a modern, secure, and productive digital workplace experience for employees worldwide. The engineer acts as the primary collaboration technical resource for APAC while supporting global initiatives and platform transformations. Key Responsibilities Microsoft 365 Collaboration Administer and support Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, and related collaboration services. Support collaboration platform migrations, consolidations, and modernization initiatives. Partner with operations teams to resolve escalated collaboration issues. Maintain service health, operational excellence, and user satisfaction. Messaging & Exchange Online Administer Exchange Online mail flow, transport rules, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and messaging policies. Support email security initiatives including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. Drive mailbox lifecycle management, retention, and archiving strategies. Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures involving messaging services. Security & Governance Implement and maintain Microsoft Purview compliance and retention controls. Support data classification, information protection, and governance initiatives. Partner with Cyber Security teams on messaging and collaboration security controls. Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements. AI & Digital Workplace Enablement Support Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption and readiness activities. Assist in AI governance and platform enablement initiatives. Identify automation opportunities using Power Automate and Microsoft 365 services. Develop end-user guidance, training, and adoption materials. Platform Engineering & Continuous Improvement Participate in roadmap planning and Microsoft service change management. Evaluate new Microsoft capabilities and recommend adoption strategies. Develop automation scripts and operational efficiencies. Contribute to global standards, architecture reviews, and service improvements. APAC Regional Leadership Serve as the primary collaboration engineering contact for APAC stakeholders. Coordinate support activities across regional and global teams. Provide technical leadership during incidents and major platform changes. Support executive communications and business-critical collaboration initiatives. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Experience 5+ years supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration and messaging platforms. 3+ years administering Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams. Experience supporting multinational enterprise environments. Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones. Reduce manual effort through automation and self-service improvements. Improve governance and compliance posture across collaboration platforms. Support APAC business units with high customer satisfaction. Contribute to Microsoft 365 Copilot and digital workplace transformation initiatives.
