IT Service Operations Lead - API and Cloud Warehouse Integrations.

REMOTESENIOR LEVEL
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team The Enterprise Data Organization (EDO) provides Data & Distribution services to data producers within S&P Global, driving innovation and collaboration to optimise data operations and distribution processes that meet the evolving needs of our business partners. The North America Data Operations team sits at the heart of this mission — owning API integrations, cloud data warehouse connectivity, and client data delivery infrastructure that underpins how S&P Global's data products are experienced by its clients. This is a technical leadership role on a growing, collaborative team where your engineering decisions and client relationships will directly shape platform quality and delivery outcomes. Working Model: Hybrid — 2 days per week in our Calgary office, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week. Responsibilities and Impact: Lead the technical direction of the North America support team — setting the engineering standard for API integrations, data delivery, and cloud warehouse connectivity, and providing technical mentorship to team members. Design and implement customised file configurations and lead client migration projects from legacy systems to S&P Global's Data Delivery platform, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption. Deliver expert technical consultancy for API integration processes and data sharing into warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, GCP BigQuery, and Databricks, acting as the most senior technical voice on complex engagements. Champion automation and process optimisation initiatives that drive measurable efficiency gains and performance improvements across data operations workflows. Bridge operations and product — identify and specify application issues, translating operational insights into actionable development priorities in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams. Engage proactively with senior clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and satisfaction while facilitating Agile prioritisation, coordination, and sprint planning within the team. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: 10+ years of professional experience in API integration, application support, and/or data operations engineering, with demonstrated ability to act as the most senior technical resource on a team. Production proficiency in Python and/or SQL for data operations and integration workflows; proficiency in an additional programming language such as Java, .NET, or C considered where accompanied by strong software engineering fundamentals. Demonstrated technical leadership — including ownership of architectural decisions, technical direction-setting, and hands-on guidance of more junior engineers in a professional environment. Production experience in incident management, application support, and enterprise-scale distributed system operations. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior client-side personnel. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, GCP BigQuery, Databricks, or AWS. Experience with operational tooling, monitoring platforms, and automation techniques — including tools such as Azure DevOps, Splunk, Salesforce, MS Excel, and/or Power BI. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Background in software development or data analysis with a demonstrated interest in transitioning towards application operations and greater client-facing delivery responsibility. Demonstrated ability to generate insights from operational metrics and apply them to KPI reporting and performance improvement. Experience facilitating Agile delivery — including sprint planning, prioritisation, and cross-functional coordination. Prior experience managing or contributing to monthly KPI reporting and operational performance frameworks in a data or technology operations context.
