Key responsibilities of this newly created role include:
- Lead the scrum team as a servant leader.
- Craft a servant leadership style to be an example for all employees and aspiring leaders.
- Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
- Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
- Develop with the team a sustainable pace of continuous improvement.
- Help the team articulate, radiate, and actively remove impediments.
- Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving.
- Create a positive team environment that empowers the team through the facilitation of discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Protects the team from both internal and external factors that may impact the team’s performance.
- Actively working to develop new ways of communication, information radiation, and transparency for the team and their stakeholders.
- Partner with the Product Owner to ensure a strong vision, backlog development and cadence.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (incl. sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives), ensuring that activities are time-boxed and artefacts are visible to the team (through visualization techniques and/or tools).
- Radiate sprint team metrics that help the team see how they are doing.
- Work with other stakeholders to validate and align dependencies
- Working closely with the Agile coach to grow the team (if applicable).
- Understand other processes and methodologies other than Agile and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.
- Understand fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
- Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team.
- Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
- Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
- Familiarity with common Agile practices and enhanced development practices.
