About Us

Our client is a U.S.-affiliated global distributor serving the paper and tissue industry across more than 80 countries. Its Mexican operation supports local sales between Mexican paper mills and converting companies, combining international trade with a hands-on local business environment.

As the Mexico operation grows in importance, the company is investing in stronger local accounting and administrative support while giving the right person meaningful exposure to senior finance leadership in both Mexico and the United States.

The role is intentionally broad and hands-on: you will be the key local person helping senior leadership keep the Mexican operation organized, compliant, and financially sound.

You do not need to arrive knowing every part of the role. Strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, initiative, and the willingness to learn are more important than having already managed every finance, HR, banking, or administrative function.

  • Coordinate closely with U.S.-based Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to keep local transactions, billing, collections, and payments accurate
  • Prepare documentation and supporting schedules for periodic audits, transfer pricing initiatives, and other accounting projects
  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, process documentation, and segregation-of-duties practices as the Mexican operation continues to develop
  • Coordinate local payroll inputs, employee administration, and benefits-related processes with the appropriate internal and external partners
  • Maintain local corporate and administrative records and support legal entity compliance activities
  • Coordinate office administration and help ensure the local operation runs smoothly day to day
  • Partner with U.S.-based IT resources on local systems, technology, ERP, and process-improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, with solid knowledge of core accounting principles, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
  • Practical experience with Mexican accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with SAT requirements
  • Experience with billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a combination of these functions
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the confidence to work directly with U.S.-based executives
  • Advanced Excel skills, including functions, PivotTables, and charts
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
  • Ability and willingness to work full-time on-site in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Estado de México
