Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in project accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Business Central. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the tasks with operations associated with project accounting, the month-end close process, transactional processing, and assisting operations with Business Central functionality. The position will reside in the MTI office with a reporting relationship to the Midwest Controller in Chicago. Key Responsibilities: Accounting and Financial Analysis: Lead the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Assist in the preparation of the yearly budget and provide insights and analysis to support decision-making. Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and regulations. Project Accounting: Oversee project accounting activities. Work with the sales team, utilizing Business Central to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, revenues, and profitability, including warranty coordination with clients. Business Central: Be the system expert assisting the sales team with CRM functionality and the accounting functions. Responding to inquiries timely and ensure the data in the system is accurate and complete. Customer and Vendor Invoice Processing: Review, prepare, and process daily invoices and cash receipts, including any applicable sales tax. Assist with preparing the weekly cash forecast and processing of the cash disbursements. Warranty and Inventory Coordination: Coordinate any warranty work with the sales team and assist the warehouse manager with inventory tasks including physical counts, pricing and analysis. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central, and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively and collaborate with various stakeholders.
