Job Description Objective / Purpose: Lead the HVAC discipline within the GCC and ensure delivery of high-quality engineering services for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Build and develop HVAC engineering capabilities, talent, and technical expertise within the team. Drive engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement through digital and data-driven engineering practices. Ensure HVAC designs meet GMP, quality, regulatory, safety, sustainability, and business requirements. Accountabilities: Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop HVAC engineers. Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and capability development. Manage discipline workload, resource planning, and delivery priorities. Engineering Delivery: Accountable for HVAC engineering deliverables across project phases. Ensure designs are fit for purpose, operable, maintainable, and scalable. Coordinate interfaces with Process, Utilities, CSA, Automation, Digital Factory, and CQV teams. Quality, Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, Takeda standards, and applicable industry regulations. Ensure designs align with ISO standards, cleanroom classification requirements, EHS requirements, and engineering best practices. Lead technical reviews, quality assurance activities, and lessons learned. Support regulatory inspections, audits, and quality investigations as required. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Drive standardization, modularization, and reuse of engineering solutions. Promote digital engineering, innovation, and data-driven decision making. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, sustainability, and engineering quality. Education, Behavioural Competencies and Skills: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Master's Degree preferred. Experience: 10+ years of HVAC engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries. Experience across Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction Support, and Commissioning. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and project delivery. Competencies: Leadership and talent development. Stakeholder management and collaboration. Strategic thinking and decision making. Continuous improvement mindset. Innovation and digital mindset. Technical Skills: Cleanroom HVAC design and environmental control systems. Pressure cascades, containment, and airflow management. HVAC load calculations and system sizing. GMP manufacturing facility design. Knowledge of ISO cleanroom standards, EU GMP Annex 1, ASHRAE, ISPE Baseline Guides, and applicable industry codes and regulations. Engineering design software, BIM, and digital engineering tools.
