Maintenance Custodian Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Maintenance Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout our plant facilities. This position is responsible for routine cleaning, floor care, restroom and common-area maintenance, waste removal, and other facility-related tasks. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, can work independently with minimal supervision, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe and professional workplace. Essential Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of all plant facilities. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and clean assigned areas. Strip and wax floors as needed. Clean and maintain bathrooms, showers, break rooms, kitchen areas, and other common areas. Empty trash and maintain appropriate waste disposal practices. Monitor and support the facility's recycling program. Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies. Follow all safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals. Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the Facility Engineer. Complete special cleaning and facility projects as assigned. Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with employees throughout the facility. Perform additional duties as necessary to support the needs of the company. Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years of experience cleaning commercial facilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Ability to effectively communicate and work with people at all levels of the organization. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including 8–10 hours or more. Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Ability to perform physical cleaning activities throughout the workday.
