About the Role
A Protect Life Michigan (PLM) Regional Activist (RA) carries out the mission of PLM by traveling to various colleges in their region and changing pro-choice minds on abortion by leading outreach efforts on college campuses. The Regional Activist’s purpose is to assist Campus Activists in leading and executing outreach events. Regional Activists report to a Campus Activist Supervisor or Regional Activist Lead.
This role is primarily in-person at the assigned colleges, with some work-from-home days, and requires the candidate to support raise their salary and ministry expenses; please read more details in the Salary & Benefits section below.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in and lead outreach events on different college campuses, as scheduled by Campus Activists and assigned to you by your manager
- Conduct additional outreach events with other Regional Activists in target communities
- Assist in recruiting new members of pro-life campus groups, especially at the fall recruitment fairs
- Attend additional club meetings and social events as needed
Qualifications
- Commitment to the pro-life movement and the mission of Protect Life Michigan.
- Ability to commit to joining the team for one school year
- Passionate and positive view of support-raising and/or fundraising. Support raising is necessary for this role. A positive view of support raising is part of PLM’s culture.
- Ability to effectively communicate in person, and in writing, including public speaking.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to organize effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel (day trips) multiple times per week.
- Lives within 30 minutes of at least one of the universities in the region.
- Flexible work schedule, and the ability to work nights/weekends as necessary.
- Proficiency in Google Applications.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and productively.
- Experience in a campus pro-life group is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and benefits are determined by the needs of the individual, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include:

- Ability to work from home.
- Health Insurance Benefit: Eligible employees receive a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to help cover medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums. Annual reimbursement limits range from $3,000–$5,000 for individual coverage and $5,000–$10,000 for family coverage, depending on weekly hours worked. Employees working fewer than 10 hours per week are not eligible.
Support Raising
- Protect Life Michigan is a support-raising organization. The salary and all expenses associated with this position will be fundraised by the candidate. Protect Life Michigan will provide training and coaching in order to help the candidate reach full support and will pay the candidate while they raise support. We have an excellent track record of helping job candidates reach full support: 85% of our candidates have reached full support within 2-3 months.
- You will complete support raising prep work over the first 1-3 weeks, then you will attend a support raising bootcamp around week 4 of your employment with PLM. Subsequently, you will spend the next 6-13 weeks support raising before beginning your job duties.
