We retrofit heavy machinery with easy-to-use software and Physical AI, tackling critical safety and productivity challenges on the ground. Through our subscription-based automation model (AaaS), we deliver task-specific, field-ready solutions that immediately maximize jobsite efficiency without massive upfront hardware costs. Backed by top-tier global venture capital and optimized by the industry's largest physical dataset, we are actively transforming renewable energy and infrastructure projects today. We don't just build abstract concepts— we put real, practical solutions to work in the field.
About the Team
This is Xpanner’s first dedicated Communications & Investor Relations role. You’ll work closely with leadership, Finance, our global marketing team, and Korea HQ to build the function from the ground up, setting how we engage with media, industry partners, and the investment community. As Xpanner scales in the U.S. and prepares for public-company readiness, there will be room to grow the team and your scope over time.
What You’ll Do
How you’ll make impact:
You’ll shape how the industry and investors see Xpanner, building a credible, well-timed public record that strengthens our market position, supports growth, and lays the groundwork for an IPO.
Core Responsibilities:
Long-Term Media Strategy & Public Relations
- Own a multi-year media strategy tied to Xpanner's roadmap and vision — mapping upcoming milestones (customer deployments, new equipment and verticals, product launches, funding, IPO readiness) to a communications calendar so coverage builds into one cumulative story.
- Publish selectively — choosing the right outlets, journalists, and timing for each milestone across trade, business, technology, energy, and financial press, prioritizing credibility and lasting impact over volume.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key journalists, editors, and industry analysts covering construction, renewable energy, robotics/AI, and business and finance.
- Maintain a messaging framework and coverage record so every new story reinforces what came before and stays consistent with our long-term positioning.
- Develop executive thought leadership — bylined articles, speaking opportunities, and spokesperson preparation for our founders and leaders.
- Counsel leadership on timing and disclosure, including when to hold a story, and lead crisis and issues communications.
- Manage any external PR agency and measure success by the quality and reach of coverage among target investor and customer audiences, not by volume of hits.
Investor & Customer Audiences
- Align the public narrative with Xpanner's equity story in partnership with the CEO, Finance, and Korea HQ, so our media record serves as credible third-party validation for prospective investors.
- Equip leadership and Sales with the record you build — press kits, curated coverage, and narrative inputs for investor updates, fundraising materials, and customer conversations.
- Support IPO-readiness work alongside the Head of Finance, bringing disclosure discipline to external communications and laying the groundwork for future public-company communications.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Field Operations to surface compelling customer stories and field results, and ensure external messaging stays accurate and aligned with our brand.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years in public relations or corporate communications, including senior in-house or agency roles owning the long-term media narrative for a technology, industrial, or energy company.
- A multi-year track record of building a sustained media presence — a portfolio showing coverage that built cumulatively around company milestones, not one-off hits.
- Strong understanding of construction, heavy equipment, renewable energy, or industrial technology, and the business fluency to speak credibly about our model (retrofit automation, subscription-based AaaS) with journalists and investors.
- Established relationships with top-tier business, technology, and trade media.
- Sound strategic judgment on outlet selection, timing, and disclosure, with experience advising founders or C-level executives and handling confidential, market-sensitive information.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills — able to turn complex technology and business progress into clear, credible narratives.
- Founder’s mentality: Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable building processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience communicating to both investors and enterprise customers, ideally supporting a fundraising round, pre-IPO program, or a company’s transition to public reporting.
- Background in construction tech, robotics, AI, clean energy, or other hard-tech sectors.
- Familiarity with financial communications and disclosure practices.
- Proficiency in Korean to communicate with Korea HQ stakeholders and support cross-border messaging.
