Our software is used by companies such as Spotify, Roblox, CoreWeave, Grammarly, CERN, and thousands of others.<h5>What You Will Do</h5><ul><li>Focus on development and maintenance of the VictoriaTraces project, our distributed tracing solution.</li><li>Continuously learn about industry distributed tracing solutions, understand the pain points they solve for users, and collaborate with us to shape VictoriaTraces’ roadmap.</li><li>Contribute to improving documentation so users can find answers more easily on their own.</li><li>Collaborate with the open-source community by participating in issue discussions, providing feedback on pull requests, and helping users across Slack, Telegram, GitHub, and other channels.</li><li>Maintain core functionality, with a focus on issues that impact everyday usability.</li><li>Help users get the most value out of VictoriaTraces and VictoriaStack as a whole.</li><li>Look for ways to simplify code and improve usability while preserving backward compatibility.</li><li>Improve existing features where it makes sense, avoiding unnecessary complexity.</li><li>Help keep the codebase simple, understandable, and maintainable over time.</li><li>Ensure that changes and contributions stay aligned with product direction and real user needs.</li><li>Help maintain system quality and performance by strengthening existing tests and adding new ones where needed.</li></ul><h5>About You</h5><ul><li>2+ years building and operating production systems.</li><li>Ability to understand, write, and review Golang code.</li><li>Understanding of the observability domain and distributed systems.</li><li>User-focused, willing to help debug real-world issues.</li><li>High ownership and ability to drive tasks independently.</li><li>Strong written and spoken English required.</li></ul><h5>Preferred Qualifications</h5><ul><li>Experience with Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaTraces/Jaeger, OpenTelemetry.</li><li>Experience with Grafana.</li><li>Experience with Kubernetes.</li><li>Contributions to open-source projects.</li></ul><h5>Interview Process:</h5><ol><li>Introductory Video Call (30 mins): Meet with our HR team to discuss your experience, background, and overall fit for the role.</li><li>Technical Interview (1 hour): Dive deep into your technical skills and problem-solving approach with our engineering team.</li><li>Second Technical Interview (Optional, 1 hour): Meet with one of our founders to discuss your experience, technical interests, and alignment with VictoriaMetrics’ engineering culture and vision.</li><li>Offer: Embark on your journey with VictoriaMetrics.</li></ol>Please note: this position is designed for Independent Contractors with their own registered business entity
