About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Stormwater Leader to support our growing Oregon/Idaho region. This position sits within our Water team and reports to our Water Division Manager, while serving as the primary lead for stormwater design across the region.

The primary focus of this role will be stormwater design and drainage infrastructure for traditional and multi-modal transportation projects, with additional support for community building and site civil projects as needed. This is a high-impact role that blends technical leadership, mentorship, and business development.

This position may be based in Portland, Bend, Eugene, or Boise, with a hybrid schedule to support collaboration with regional teams and clients.

Your Role on the Team:

  • Serve as the regional technical lead for stormwater compliance, analysis, and design
  • Lead stormwater and drainage design for linear infrastructure projects such as road and highway, light-rail, and active transportation path projects.
  • Support site civil and community building projects with stormwater expertise
  • Oversee preparation of drainage reports, hydraulic modeling, stormwater management plans, engineering analyses and design, and construction documents
  • Ensure compliance with state and local design standards and permitting requirements (ODOT, ITD, local jurisdictions, etc.)
  • Provide QA/QC for stormwater-related deliverables
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers
  • Support business development efforts, including client engagement, proposal support, and identifying new opportunities

What You Bring to the Team:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field and 10+ years of progressive experience in stormwater and drainage design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Oregon and/or Idaho preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Strong experience supporting transportation projects and familiarity with ODOT, ITD, and/or local agency design standards
  • Advanced proficiency in hydraulic/hydrologic modeling and design software
  • Proven ability to support or lead client development and help win work
  • Experience mentoring engineering staff
