This opportunity is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with a strong background in orthopedic rehabilitation, post-operative care, and custom splint and orthosis fabrication. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for patients with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions affecting the upper extremities. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, patient needs, and functional goals. Provide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, range of motion, coordination, dexterity, and functional performance. Fabricate, fit, and modify custom splints and orthoses for post-operative recovery and non-surgical orthopedic management. Monitor patient progress, reassess functional outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate. Educate patients on therapeutic exercises, joint protection strategies, adaptive techniques, splint management, and home exercise programs. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards and applicable regulations. Qualifications and Requirements Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program; a master's degree is preferred. Strong clinical experience in upper extremity rehabilitation, orthopedic occupational therapy, and post-operative care. Demonstrated proficiency in custom splint fabrication, orthotic fitting, and splint modification. At least one year of occupational therapy experience preferred. Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and intend to pursue CHT certification are encouraged to apply. Excellent clinical reasoning, assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Additional relevant clinical certifications are a plus.
