DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a highly motivated Tree Cutting Laborer with a great attitude and strong ethics. This position is responsible for performing the day-to-day job functions that support all field operations.
Seasonal Employment: This position is seasonal, with work availability dependent on weather conditions, project needs, and workload. Start and end dates may vary based on operational demands.
Responsibilities:
- Safely climb trees using ropes, saddles, and other climbing equipment.
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, cabling, and removals according to industry standards.
- Operate chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, stump grinders, and other tree care equipment.
- Assist with rigging operations and the controlled lowering of tree limbs and sections.
- Perform ground crew duties including brush cleanup, chipping, and debris removal as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of climbing gear, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure safe and efficient job completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, vehicles, and equipment.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Prior tree climbing experience a plus but not required.
- Experience with tree pruning and removals preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR) required.
- Ability to travel extensively, including trips lasting 5–6 consecutive weeks at a time.
- Ability to work safely at heights and perform physically demanding outdoor work.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
