Join us as a Category Manager Buildings, Utilities and Facility Management (BUFM) within Purchasing@ContiTech.
In this role, you will drive BUFM procurement activities across the region with regularly global scope, ensuring efficient, compliant, and value-driven sourcing outcomes. You will collaborate closely with business and BUFM stakeholders and contribute to building a strong supplier base and procurement practices.
Your Tasks
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing sourcing activities across assigned categories with a focus on quality, cost competitiveness, risk management, and long-term value creation.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance global category strategies based on market intelligence, spend analytics, and business requirements.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and contract lifecycle management.
- Manage and develop a global supplier portfolio through performance evaluations, benchmark analyses, supplier development initiatives, and strategic supplier reviews.
- Drive international negotiations to achieve sustainable cost savings, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), and support business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, SCM, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to define requirements and execute sourcing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual standards, and corporate governance requirements throughout the sourcing process.
- Leverage digital procurement tools, e-sourcing platforms, and analytics solutions to improve transparency, efficiency, and decision-making.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and sustainability within the assigned categories.
Your Profile
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Several years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor & contract management
- Proven experience in managing sourcing projects and negotiations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in an international environment
- Structured, analytical, data-driven and solution-oriented mindset,
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of topics
- Confident handling of digital tools
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
